Matchbox Twenty

Matchbox Twenty Aug 22, 2017 @  Walnut Creek, Raleigh, NC

Rob Thomas (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards)

It was a great night for seeing Counting Crows and Matchbox Twenty. MB20 stopped touring in 1993 and this is kind of a reunion tour after Kyle Cook left the band in 2016. They played everything you wanted to hear off their four albums like: 3am, Push, Downfall and If You’re Gone. You pretty much know every song on their playlist and had a four song encore.

Matchbox Twenty formed in Orlando, FL in 1995 and took off in 1996 with their debut LP Yourself or Someone Like You. That album also won them their first music award as Favorite Pop/Rock New Artist at the American Music Awards in 1998. They have won 4 awards out of 12 nominations between 1998 – 2009.
