@ PNC Arena – Raleigh, NC
December 12, 2018
The PNC Arena hosted Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve” 2018 winter tour Wednesday (December 12).
TSO is on their 20th year with what is known as one of the biggest stage productions going or should I say two stage productions? They are actually two fractions fans know as TSO East and TSO West. Switching off members throughout their two month tour so you never know which members you will see. Performing twice a day on most dates, totaling 33 states and 106 shows this season.
This time around Raleigh performers were: Bryan Hicks as the story teller, Chris Caffery and Joel Hoekstra on guitar, Jeff Plate on drums, bassist Tony Dickinson, Roddy Chong on strings, Met Eun Kim and Derek Wieeland on keyboards. As for vocals… I could not tell you all of them. Ten in all and North Carolina’s very own Caleb Johnson from Asheville being one of them.
All vocalists brought their own embellishments to the lyrics they performed. All of them backed up by amazing musicians, light show and visuals.
The first half of the show was “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve” story followed up by “The Best of TSO” portion. Being that TSO never has an opening band, we are lucky enough to enjoy over three hours of their music. The show is well worth the ticket (and PNC parking….) and should be a holiday tradition.
