Arrival From Sweden: The Music of ABBA
@ DPAC – Durham, NC
August 9, 2019
ABBA is Sweden’s biggest music export with almost 400 million records sold. That is a lot sold for a band that only toured 10 weeks total in the 10 years they were together. That puts ABBA up there with Elvis and The Beatles. Their music is also Featured in the movies Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
Driving on that success Arrival From Sweden has been the most popular ABBA tribute band in the world and has toured 60 countries since 1995. They’ve done over 60 tours here in the US.
The 9 member band gives you the look, sound and feel of the 70’s show with 70’s minis, gogo boots and all!
The show in two sets is very entertaining and fun featuring songs we all know like Mamma Mia, Money Money Money, Waterloo, Dancing Queen, Chiquitita, S.O.S., Take a Chance on Me to name a few.
Between songs Victoria Norbäck shared facts about the original members of ABBA, the music group’s history and their Swedish background. She even sang the first verse of Fernando in Swedish.
If you like happy music, 70’s nostalgia, dancing in the aisles then this is a show for you.
